경집의 뱀 품의 세 번째 경으로, 홀로 수행하는 것에 대한 마흔한 편의 게송으로 이루어져 있으며 각 게송은 “무소의 뿔처럼 홀로 가라”는 후렴으로 끝난다. 전승에 따르면 부처님께서 과거 벽지불들의 말씀을 전하는 형식으로 아난다에게 설하셨다고 한다
