本生故事，菩薩曾為鹿群之首，其姊將外甥託付他教導，外甥不聽教誨，終陷入獵人所設陷阱喪命，用以譬喻一位不守規矩的比丘。

A Jātaka about the Bodhisatta as a leader of deer whose disobedient nephew, entrusted to him for instruction by his sister, ignored his teaching and was killed in a hunter’s trap, told in reference to an unruly monk.
