수다스러운 왕이 철 지나 울어댄 뻐꾸기 새끼를 길러내다 결국 죽여버린 까마귀를 대신이 가리켜 보이자 그 버릇을 고쳤다는 자타카로, 수다쟁이의 운명을 그 뻐꾸기의 운명에 비유하며 비구 코칼리카와 관련해 설해졌다.

A birth story about a talkative king who is cured of his habit when his minister points to a crow that fostered and then killed a cuckoo chick for crying out of season, comparing the fate of the chattering to that of the cuckoo, told in reference to the monk Kokālika.
