과거의 유명한 여섯 스승 중 한 명으로, 경건하고 성스러운 삶으로 명성이 높아 많은 추종자를 끌어모았고 사후 범천계에 태어났다. 지혜 바라밀을 완성한 그의 이야기는 『쿳달라 본생담』에 전한다.
