마하위하라(Mahāvihāra)의 경계를 파괴한 뒤 카닛타 티사(Kaniṭṭha-Tissa) 왕이 세운 스리랑카의 승방 줄로, 후에 마하세나(Mahāsena) 왕이 복원했으며 쿡쿠타라마(Kukkuṭārāma)로도 알려져 있다
