သီရိလင်္ကာသို့ ရောက်ရှိလာစဉ် ဝိဇယ ထိမ်းမြားခဲ့သော ယက္ခမိန်းကလေးတစ်ဦးဖြစ်ပြီး၊ သူမ၏အကူအညီဖြင့် ဒေသခံယက္ခများကို သတ်ဖြတ်ခဲ့သည်။ နောက်ပိုင်း မင်းသမီးတစ်ဦးအတွက် သူမကို စွန့်ပစ်ခဲ့ရာ၊ သူမနှင့် သားသမီးနှစ်ဦးသည် ထွက်ပြေးခဲ့ရပြီး နောက်ဆုံးသတ်ဖြတ်ခံခဲ့ရသည်။ သူတို့၏အဆက်အနွယ်များသည် ပုလိန္ဒလူမျိုးများဖြစ်လာခဲ့သည်။

A yakkha maiden whom Vijaya married on arriving in Sri Lanka and with whose help he slaughtered the resident yakkhas, only to discard her later for a royal bride, after which she and her two children fled and were eventually slain, their descendants becoming the Pulindas.
