축제 자리에서 장례 게송을 읊는 등 항상 엉뚱한 순간에 엉뚱한 말을 하는 버릇으로 악명 높은 장로로, 사리풋타에 버금가는 지식이 있다고 큰소리쳤다가 설법을 청받자 망신을 당했다.
