라자가하 남서쪽에 있는 숲으로, 숩파티타 사당이 있던 곳이며, 붓다가 깨달음을 얻은 뒤 처음 이 도시를 방문했을 때 머물렀고 빔비사라 왕이 많은 수행원과 함께 경의를 표하러 왔으며 후에 대나무 숲을 승단에 기증한 곳이다

A grove southwest of Rājagaha containing the Suppatiṭṭha shrine, where the Buddha stayed on his first visit to the city after his Enlightenment and where King Bimbisāra, with a great following, came to pay homage and later donated the Bamboo Grove to the Order.
