अनुराधपुर में स्थित नौ मंजिला भवन, जिसकी छत ताम्र-पट्टिकाओं से बनी थी और जो महाविहार के उपोसथ भवन के रूप में प्रयुक्त होता था, यह देवानम्पियतिस्स के समय एक छोटी संरचना के रूप में आरंभ हुआ था, जिसे बाद में राजा दुट्ठगामणि ने भव्य रूप में पुनर्निर्मित किया।
