アヌラーダプラにある九階建ての建物で、銅板で屋根を葺かれ、マハーヴィハーラの布薩堂として使われ、デーヴァーナンピヤティッサ王の時代に小さな建物として始まった後、ドゥッタガーマニ王によって壮大な規模で再建された。

A nine-storey building at Anurādhapura, roofed with copper plates and used as the uposatha hall of the Mahāvihāra, rebuilt on a grand scale by King Duṭṭhagāmaṇī after starting as a small structure under Devānampiyatissa.
