바와리의 은거지에서 사왓티로 가는 길목에 있는 도시로, 참파와 함께 세워진 아완티의 수도라고 한다. 아마도 북쪽 수도 웃제니와 구별되는 남아완티를 특정해 가리키는 것으로 보인다.
