ヴェッサンタラ王子に付き従って二人の子供とともに森の追放地へ赴いた献身的な妻で、子供たちが乞食に与えられた後、自らもバラモンに変装した帝釈天へとヴェッサンタラによって与えられた、ヴェッサンタラ・ジャータカの最後の試練における人物。

The devoted wife of Prince Vessantara who followed him into forest exile with their two children and, after those children were given away to a beggar, was herself offered by Vessantara to Sakka disguised as a brahmin, in the culminating trial of the Vessantara Jātaka.
