一般にアーリンダカヴァースィー・マハープッサデーヴァと呼ばれる比丘で、絶えず瞑想しながら村へ托鉢に行き来することに二十一年を費やした後に阿羅漢果を得、その夜、諸天がこの成就を輝く光で讃えた。

A monk, generally called Alindakavāsī Mahāphussadeva, who spent twenty-one years walking to and from the village for alms in constant meditation before attaining Arahantship, an achievement honoured that night by deities with radiant light.
