テーランバッタラの長老。重病の折には大威力を持つ三万人の比丘に看護され、龍王の見舞いを受けた。ブッダラッキタ長老はその龍王を、襲いかかるガルダ王から守るため山を出現させ、龍と自らをその中に入らせた。

An elder of Therambatthala who, when gravely ill, was ministered to by thirty thousand monks of great power and visited by the king of the Nāgas, whom the elder Buddharakkhita protected from an attacking Garuḍa king by conjuring a mountain for the Nāga and the elder to enter.
