A Jātaka about King Brahmadatta of Bārāṇasī, who develops a taste for human flesh after unknowingly eating it, turns into a murderous cannibal driven from his kingdom, and is eventually confronted in the forest by his former commander Kāḷahatthi, who tries to turn him from his crimes.
