वन में भटके व्यापारियों की जातक कथा, जिन्हें एक इच्छापूर्ति करने वाले बरगद वृक्ष से भोजन, जल, कन्याएँ और खज़ाना मिला, किंतु लालच में आकर उसे काटने का प्रयास करने पर उनके नेता को छोड़कर सभी को उसमें निवास करने वाले नागराज ने मार डाला; यह संयम से उसी नियति से बचे व्यापारियों के एक समूह के विषय में कही गई।

A birth story of merchants lost in a forest who received food, water, girls and treasure from a wishing banyan tree but, growing greedy, tried to fell it and were slain by its resident naga king save for their leader, told about a group of merchants who avoided the same fate through moderation.
