මහාදේව මහතෙරුන් විසින් බුද්ධාගම වෙත හරවනු ලැබූ දේශයකි. එහිදී ඔහු දේවදූත සූත්‍රය දේශනා කළහ. සාමාන්‍යයෙන් වර්තමාන මයිසූර් සමඟ අනන්‍ය කරනු ලැබුවද, එහි අගනුවර නර්බදා ගඟේ දූපතක පිහිටි මාහිස්සති බව එක් මතයකි

A country converted by the elder Mahādeva, who taught the Devadūta Sutta there, generally identified with modern Mysore, though one view holds its capital was Māhissati on an island in the Narbadā river.
