වැසි වළක්වා ගැනීම සඳහා මියගිය තාපසයෙකුගේ පට්ට වළලූ සිවුරෙන් වෙස්වළාගත් වඳුරෙකු, බෝධිසත්ව තාපසයා විසින් හඳුනාගෙන පලවා හරින ආකාරය කියන ජාතකයකි. එහිදී තාපසයාගේ පුත්‍රයා රාහුල හිමියන් ලෙස හඳුනා ගනී.
