신들과 왕들의 배우자로서 여러 생을 거쳐, 과거불 위빳시 아래에서 쌓은 공덕의 결실로 카필라밧투의 사캬족 가문에 태어나, 마하빠자빠띠 고따미와 함께 출가하여 곧 아라한이 된 비구니이다.

A nun who, after many lifetimes as a consort of gods and kings culminating in merit earned under the past Buddha Vipassī, was born into a Sakyan family of Kapilavatthu, renounced the world with Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī, and soon attained Arahantship.
