アショーカ王の年長の同時代人であるスリランカの王で、パンドゥカーバヤとスヴァンナパーリーの息子。六十年間統治し、マハーメーガヴァナを設計した。息子デーヴァーナンピヤティッサが後を継いだ。

A king of Sri Lanka and senior contemporary of Asoka, son of Paṇḍukābhaya and Suvaṇṇapālī, who reigned for sixty years and laid out the Mahāmeghavana, and was succeeded by his son Devānampiyatissa.
