උරුවේල කස්සප තුමාගේ සොහොයුරෙකි, තෙභාතික ජටිල තාපස සොහොයුරන් තිදෙනාගෙන් කෙනෙකි, නෙරඤ්ජරා ගංතෙර තාපසයන් තුන්සියයකට නායකත්වය දුන් නිසා එසේ නම් කරන ලදී.

A brother of Uruvela-Kassapa, one of the three Tebhātika Jaṭila ascetic brothers, so named for living at the head of three hundred ascetics on the bank of the Nerañjarā.
