優樓頻螺迦葉之弟，是三位 Tebhātika Jaṭila 苦行兄弟之一，因率三百名苦行者住在尼連禪河源頭一帶而得此名。

A brother of Uruvela-Kassapa, one of the three Tebhātika Jaṭila ascetic brothers, so named for living at the head of three hundred ascetics on the bank of the Nerañjarā.
