舍卫城附近一市镇的长老，以知足清净著称，只在亲族中行乞，此事传到佛陀耳中，佛陀非但未加责怪反而称赞他，说其德行乃因亲近自己所致。

An elder of a market town near Sāvatthi, reputed for contentment and purity, who went for alms only among his own relatives; when this was reported to the Buddha, he approved and praised him, attributing his virtues to association with the Buddha himself.
