舍衛城附近一市鎮的長老，以知足清淨著稱，只在親族中行乞，此事傳到佛陀耳中，佛陀非但未加責怪反而稱讚他，說其德行乃因親近自己所致。

An elder of a market town near Sāvatthi, reputed for contentment and purity, who went for alms only among his own relatives; when this was reported to the Buddha, he approved and praised him, attributing his virtues to association with the Buddha himself.
