ชาดกเรื่องหนึ่งเล่าถึงฤๅษีป่ารูปหนึ่งไปบิณฑบาตที่บ้านพ่อค้าผู้ใจบุญแต่ไม่พบผู้ใดอยู่บ้าน จึงเดินจากไปเงียบ ๆ โดยไม่รอ จนพ่อค้ากลับมาขอโทษและเชิญให้กลับมาใหม่ เล่าขึ้นเนื่องด้วยภิกษุบวชใหม่รูปหนึ่งที่ไปบิณฑบาตผิดเวลาแล้วโกรธกล่าวโทษผู้อุปัฏฐากเมื่อไม่พบอาหารเหลืออยู่

A Jātaka about a forest ascetic who, finding no one home when he seeks alms at a devout merchant’s house, quietly departs rather than wait, prompting the returning merchant to apologize and invite him back, told about a newly ordained monk who visited at the wrong hours and angrily blamed his lay supporters when he found no food left.
