Pañcavaggiyā
Personपाँच तपस्वियों का समूह — अञ्ञातकोण्डञ्ञ, भद्दिय, वप्प, महानाम और अस्सजि — जिन्होंने बोधिसत्व के साथ तपस्या की, जब उन्होंने वह मार्ग त्यागा तो उन्हें छोड़ दिया, किंतु इसिपतन में उनका प्रथम प्रवचन सुनकर उनके प्रथम शिष्य बने।
The group of five ascetics — Aññāta-Koṇḍañña, Bhaddiya, Vappa, Mahānāma, and Assaji — who practised austerities alongside the Bodhisatta, left him when he abandoned that path, but became his first disciples after hearing his first discourse at Isipatana.
