  • アンニャータ・コンダンニャ、バッディヤ、ヴァッパ、マハーナーマ、アッサジの五比丘。菩薩と共に苦行を行ったが、菩薩が苦行を捨てた時に離れ、後にイシパタナで初転法輪を聞いて最初の弟子となった。

  • The group of five ascetics — Aññāta-Koṇḍañña, Bhaddiya, Vappa, Mahānāma, and Assaji — who practised austerities alongside the Bodhisatta, left him when he abandoned that path, but became his first disciples after hearing his first discourse at Isipatana.
