一位比丘，同修都已证得阿罗汉果唯独他未能达成，于是彻夜精进以图补救，却因跌倒摔断大腿，佛陀因此讲述《伐楼那本生》说明拖延的过患。

A monk who alone failed to attain Arahantship with his companions and, striving all night to make up for it, broke his thigh in a fall, prompting the Buddha to tell the Varuṇa Jātaka on the evils of procrastination.
