一位僧人，與五百人同赴林間禪修，囑咐眾人精進用功，自己卻整夜酣睡；同伴發覺他的欺瞞後向老師告發，老師便講述《非時啼雞本生》，將他比作故事中的公雞。

A monk who, having gone to meditate in the forest with five hundred others and urged them to be diligent, himself spent the night asleep; when his deceit was discovered, the teacher told the Akālarāvi Kukkuṭa Jātaka, identifying him with the cock of that story.
