二十四仏中十番目の仏で、Haṃsavatī にて戦士アーナンダとその妻スジャーターのもとに生まれ、誕生と成道に伴って降った蓮の花の雨にちなんで名付けられた。

The tenth of the twenty-four Buddhas, born in Haṃsavatī to the warrior Ānanda and his wife Sujātā, named for the lotus showers that accompanied his birth and enlightenment.
