가난한 바라문이 팔라사 나무에 대한 신심으로 묻힌 보물을 얻게 된 이야기를 전하는 자타카로, 부처님이 임종 시 흐느끼는 아난다를 위로하려 설하셨으며 아난다는 그 바라문과 동일시된다.

A Jātaka telling how a poor brahmin’s devotion to a Judas tree won him buried treasure, told by the Buddha on his deathbed to comfort the weeping Ānanda, who is identified with the brahmin.

황금 기러기로 태어난 보살이, 나무 요정 친구에게 반얀나무 묘목이 자기 나무를 파괴하기 전에 뽑아버리라고 경고하는 자타카로, 작은 허물도 일찍 제거해야 함을 보여준다.

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, born as a golden goose, warns a tree-sprite friend to uproot a banyan seedling before it destroys his tree, illustrating that even small faults must be uprooted early.
