떨어지는 나뭇가지에 맞고 목수를 부추겨 나무를 베게 만든 사자에 관한 자타카로, 나무 정령이 오히려 목수로 하여금 사자를 죽이게 만든다는 이야기이며, 사키야족과 콜리야족의 다툼 중에 설해졌다.
