一則本生故事，講一頭獅子因被落枝所傷而唆使樵夫砍倒一棵樹，樹神卻設計讓樵夫反過來殺了獅子取皮，是佛陀在釋迦族與拘利族爭水之爭中所說。

A birth story about a lion who provokes a carpenter into cutting down a tree after being struck by a falling branch, only for the tree spirit to have the carpenter kill the lion instead, told during the quarrel between the Sākyans and the Koliyans.
