ヴェーサーリー（Vesāli）のバラモンで、不還果を得た者。カーラナパーリー（Kāraṇapālī）に仏陀の智慧を雄弁に称賛して彼を信奉者にし、別の機会にはリッチャヴィ族を動かして仏陀のために用意された衣を彼に降り注がせた。

A brahmin of Vesāli, a Non-returner, who praised the Buddha’s wisdom so eloquently to Kāraṇapālī that the latter became a follower, and who on another occasion moved the Licchavī to shower him with garments meant for the Buddha.

ブラフマダッタ（Brahmadatta）王の妃で、王家の馬丁と姦通しているのを見つかり位を剥奪された。彼女の物語はクナーラ（Kuṇāla）によって語られたものの一つである。同じ名は、リッチャヴィ族の前での仏陀への賛美に関する経の名でもある。
