웨살리(Vesāli)의 바라문으로, 불환과를 얻은 이였다. 카라나빨리(Kāraṇapālī)에게 붓다의 지혜를 유창하게 찬양하여 그를 귀의자로 만들었고, 다른 때에는 릿차비족을 움직여 붓다를 위해 마련된 옷을 그에게 쏟아붓게 했다.

A brahmin of Vesāli, a Non-returner, who praised the Buddha’s wisdom so eloquently to Kāraṇapālī that the latter became a follower, and who on another occasion moved the Licchavī to shower him with garments meant for the Buddha.

브라흐마닷따(Brahmadatta) 왕의 왕비로, 왕실 마부와 간통을 저지르다 발각되어 지위를 박탈당했다. 그녀의 이야기는 꾸날라(Kuṇāla)가 전한 이야기 중 하나이다. 같은 이름은 릿차비족 앞에서 붓다를 찬양하는 경의 이름이기도 하다.
