බුදුන් වහන්සේ පහළ වීමෙන් පසු ක්රියා නොකළ මන්ත්රයක් ඉගෙනීමට සංඝයාට ඇතුළු වූ සැවැත් නුවර බමුණෙකි; රහත් බවට පත් වූ අතර, දෙවියන් විසින් ප්රිය කරන භික්ෂූන් අතරින් අග්ර යැයි ප්රකාශයට පත් විය, එහෙත් සෑම කෙනෙකුම චණ්ඩාලයෙකු ලෙස පුරුද්දෙන් ආමන්ත්රණය කිරීම නිසා කුප්රකට විය.
A brahmin of Sāvatthi who entered the Order to learn a spell that had ceased working after the Buddha’s appearance, attained Arahantship, and was declared foremost among monks beloved by devas, though notorious for habitually addressing everyone as an outcaste.
