အာပဏ မြို့မှ သူဌေးတစ်ဦးသည် မိမိ၏ ဥစ္စာပစ္စည်းများကို သားများအား လွှဲအပ်ပြီးဖြစ်သော်လည်း ဘုရားရှင်က ‘သူဌေး’ ဟုသာ ခေါ်ဆိုသဖြင့် စိတ်မကျေနပ်ခဲ့ရာမှ စစ်မှန်သော စွန့်လွှတ်မှုသည် ထိုထက်ပိုနက်နဲကြောင်း သိရှိလာပြီး တပည့်တော် ဖြစ်လာခဲ့သည်

A householder of Āpaṇa who, after being addressed simply as ‘householder’ by the Buddha and taking offence at having already renounced his wealth to his sons, learned that true renunciation means far more, and became a follower.

အထက်ဖော်ပြပါ သူဌေး ပေါတလိယ ပင် ဖြစ်ဖွယ်ရှိသော ပရိဗိုဇ်တစ်ပါးဖြစ်ပြီး ဘုရားရှင်နှင့် စကားဝိုင်း အဆုံးတွင် မိမိကိုယ်ကို တပည့်တော် အဖြစ် ကြေညာခဲ့သည်

A wanderer, probably the same person as the householder Potaliya above, whose conversation with the Buddha ended with him declaring himself a follower.
