A wealthy councillor’s son from Thullakoṭṭhita declared foremost among those who entered the religious life through faith, who won ordination only after threatening to starve himself, and later confronted his unrecognising father while begging for alms.

過去の仏パドゥムッタラの時代の比丘であり、同じく信仰によって世を捨てた者の中で第一と称えられた。

A monk in the time of the Buddha Padumuttara, likewise declared foremost among those who left the world through faith.
