後に菩薩となる少年が、ハリネズミと勘違いした蛇を取りに行くよう村医者に騙され、その蛇が結局医者自身を咬み殺すジャータカで、デーヴァダッタによる仏陀暗殺未遂に関連して語られた。

A Jātaka about a boy, later the Bodhisatta, tricked by a village doctor into fetching a snake he mistook for a hedgehog, whose bite then kills the doctor himself, told in connection with Devadatta’s attempts on the Buddha’s life.
