斯里兰卡上座部僧团中从 Dhammarucika 一系分裂出的一个异端宗派，后以 Mahāsena 王所建的 Jetavana-vihāra 为根据地，相传因创始人 Sāgala 长老而得名。

A heterodox sect that split off from the Dhammarucika branch of Theravāda in Sri Lanka and later settled at the Jetavana-vihāra built by King Mahāsena, said to be named after its founder, the elder Sāgala.
