斯里蘭卡上座部僧團中從 Dhammarucika 一系分裂出的一個異端宗派，後以 Mahāsena 王所建的 Jetavana-vihāra 為根據地，相傳因創始人 Sāgala 長老而得名。

A heterodox sect that split off from the Dhammarucika branch of Theravāda in Sri Lanka and later settled at the Jetavana-vihāra built by King Mahāsena, said to be named after its founder, the elder Sāgala.
