据说曾开凿海洋的一位国王，显然即萨伽罗（Sāgara），他因愤怒而挖掘大地，使大地怀抱海水，海洋因此得名萨伽罗（Sāgara）。

A king said to have dug the ocean, evidently the same figure as Sāgara, whose anger led him to excavate the earth so deeply that it came to hold the sea, from which the ocean takes the name Sāgara.
