자칼 어미에게서 태어난 사자 새끼가 자칼과 비슷한 울음소리를 내어 다른 사자들을 부끄러움에 침묵하게 만드는 자타카로, 스승 노릇을 하려던 코깔리까의 주제넘음을 가리키기 위해 설해졌으며, 코깔리까는 그 새끼에, 라훌라는 그 형제에 대응된다.
