  • A monastic fraternity founded in Pagan by Chapaṭa (Saddhammajotipāla) and his four companions — Rāhula, Ānanda, Sīvalī, and Tāmalinda — which first enjoyed royal patronage before splitting into four branches, each following one of the elders who had come from Sri Lanka.
