Sīlavīmaṃsa Jātaka
Jātaka本生故事,讲述波罗奈国师从三次偶然的见闻中悟得道理而出家苦行,用以譬喻一位不断考验自己德行的婆罗门。
A birth story of the Bodhisatta as a chaplain of Bārāṇasī who became an ascetic after drawing moral lessons from three chance observations, told in reference to a brahmin who was forever testing his own virtue.
讲述菩萨身为波罗奈国师,为测试学识与德行何者更受尊崇而假意行窃,发现德行更受敬重后请王准许出家修行的一则本生。
A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, chaplain to the king of Bārāṇasī, tests whether learning or virtue brings greater honour by feigning theft, and, on discovering virtue to be more esteemed, becomes an ascetic with the king’s leave.
