一則本生故事，講一位善於調馴的馴象師安撫一頭在戰場上被槍炮聲與投擲物嚇壞的戰象，鼓勵它視戰場如家，象終於突破重重阻礙贏得勝利，此事講的是佛陀的異母弟，他起初持戒只為求得應許的賞賜，後經舍利弗一番話觸動，發奮精進終證阿羅漢果。

A Jātaka about a skilled trainer who rallies a battle elephant terrified by the noise and missiles of combat, urging it to feel at home on the battlefield until it breaks through every obstacle to secure victory, told about the Buddha’s half-brother, who kept monastic discipline at first only for a promised reward but was later moved by Sāriputta’s words to attain full awakening.
