A birth-story about a wealthy, charitable brahmin named Saṅkha who, after honouring a Pacceka Buddha with his shoes and umbrella before a sea voyage, survived a shipwreck through seven days of fasting devotion and was rescued with a treasure-laden ship by the goddess Maṇimekhalā.

อีกชาดกหนึ่งที่ใช้ชื่อสังขะเช่นกัน แต่เป็นคนละเรื่อง เล่าถึงบิดาพราหมณ์ผู้เดินทางไปพาราณสีเพื่อตามหาบุตรชื่อสุสีมะ ได้ทราบว่าบุตรได้เป็นพระปัจเจกพุทธเจ้าตั้งแต่ยังหนุ่มและมรณภาพแล้ว จึงดูแลสถูปของบุตรด้วยความภักดีจนพระพุทธเจ้าเสด็จผ่านเส้นทางเดียวกันภายหลังทรงได้รับการต้อนรับอย่างสูงส่ง

A different birth-story sharing the name Saṅkha, about a brahmin father who journeyed to Bārāṇasī in search of his son Susīma, learned the boy had become a Pacceka Buddha and died young, and tended his memorial shrine with such devotion that the Buddha later received extraordinary honours on the same road.
