चार व्यापारी-पुत्रों की जातक कथा, जिन्होंने हिरण-मांस विक्रेता को क्रमशः “बालक”, “भाई”, “पिता” और “मित्र” कहकर संबोधित किया और क्रमशः बेहतर मांस-भाग पाए, “मित्र” कहने वाले को पूरा हिरण मिला; यह सारिपुत्त के संदर्भ में कही गई।

A birth story of four merchants’ sons who addressed a venison hawker as ‘boy’, ‘brother’, ‘father’, and ‘friend’ respectively, receiving progressively better cuts of meat, with the one who called him ‘friend’ getting the whole deer, told in reference to Sāriputta.
