本生故事，讲四位商人之子分别以“喂”“兄”“父”“友”称呼一名卖鹿肉者，所得肉块依序渐佳，称“友”者更获赠整只鹿肉及车运；此事为舍利弗而说。

A birth story of four merchants’ sons who addressed a venison hawker as ‘boy’, ‘brother’, ‘father’, and ‘friend’ respectively, receiving progressively better cuts of meat, with the one who called him ‘friend’ getting the whole deer, told in reference to Sāriputta.
