本生故事，講四位商人之子分別以「喂」「兄」「父」「友」稱呼一名賣鹿肉者，所得肉塊依序漸佳，稱「友」者更獲贈整隻鹿肉及車運；此事為舍利弗而說。

A birth story of four merchants’ sons who addressed a venison hawker as ‘boy’, ‘brother’, ‘father’, and ‘friend’ respectively, receiving progressively better cuts of meat, with the one who called him ‘friend’ getting the whole deer, told in reference to Sāriputta.
